Burton's Biscuits acquired by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan

Burton's Biscuits, the maker of Jammie Dodger and Wagon Wheels, was acquired by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. The purchase amount was not disclosed but previous estimates were around $565 million. Burton's will retain its management team, and the deal includes Burton's license to produce Cadbury biscuits. Burton's has been on the market since 2010 and previously attracted the attention of Kellogg, Campbell Soup, Bright Foods and the Wahaha group.
