Regulators in Europe and the U.S. are striving to standardize contracts to streamline the winding down of troubled banks. However, a "seemingly small derivatives detail could sink global bank wind-down plans," Daniel Indiviglio writes. Regulators have asked ISDA to resolve the issue by altering its master agreement for swaps. Doing so, however, could raise other issues.
