How to help students manage the middle-school transition

The middle-school transition can be challenging for many students as they learn to take on increasing responsibilities. Middle-grades educators suggest helping preteens learn to self-advocate by teaching them how to solve their own problems. "The greatest piece of advice we can give students is for them to accept responsibility and be accountable for their actions," assistant principal Wendy Hannah said.
