No new safety issues found with Roche drugs, EMA says

The European Medicines Agency said it has not found any "important new safety concerns” after a yearlong investigation into drugs manufactured by Swiss-based Roche, after the agency found that Roche was not properly assessing reports from physicians about adverse reactions. The EMA also dropped the number of potential negative drug effects from 80,000 to 23,000, according to a Roche representative. The company, which is the world's largest manufacturer of cancer drugs, could still face fines for improper reporting.
