A merger of food distributors Spartan Stores and Nash Finch has been approved by shareholders, creating a company named SpartanNash. The name change is expected to become effective in May. The board of directors comprises seven Spartan members and four Nash Finch members. Nash Finch common stock has been converted into 1.2 shares of Spartan, according to the estimated $1.3 billion agreement.
