Wis. districts work to bring students back to the lunch line

Some Wisconsin districts saw student participation in school meals decline following the implementation of new federal meal standards, and some are taking steps to reverse the trend. One district has added salad stations in schools offering fresh fruits and vegetables to help bring students back to the lunch line. "What we're seeing is numbers rebounding," said Kathy Walker, foodservices director for the Green Bay School District. "I think we had to tweak things as kids and food services adjusted to regulatory changes," she said.
