Electronic gauges used to ensure Wisconsin bridge safety

Wisconsin is going the extra yard to ensure the safety of its 14 deck-truss bridges, which are similar to the Minneapolis bridge that collapsed in August. The state's Department of Transportation visually inspected the 14 bridges and found them to be safe after the Minnesota collapse, but as an extra precaution, electronic strain gauges are being used to monitor the bridges.
