AHA: Hospitals taking financial hit from bad economy

The American Hospital Association says its members are being hurt financially by the economic crisis, including a drop in overall admissions and elective procedures and an increase in charity care patients. A survey of AHA members found 56% are reconsidering or postponing renovations or expansions and 40% are putting off IT improvements or equipment purchases.
