Senate holds confirmation hearing for TARP watchdog

The Senate Banking Committee held a confirmation hearing Wednesday for Neil Barofsky, the White House nominee to be special inspector general for the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program. Members nearly unanimously praised Barofsky's credentials. While the plan's implementation has sparked numerous debates, almost all sides agree on the need to quickly form a watchdog group for its implementation.
