Computer model prioritizes Virginia transportation projects

Virginia officials recently used a computer model to prioritize regional transportation projects. A project to expand the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel took first place in the rankings. The computer model weighed congestion relief, cost, safety, viability and other criteria to determine the rankings. Officials note that the ranks may change, and that they are only one factor in the decision-making process.
