EU charges S&P with breaching competition rules

The European Commission said license fees that Standard & Poor's levies on fund managers is a violation of competition rules. The commission's claim refers to S&P's "international securities identification numbers," which are codes for identifying bonds, equities and other securities. The commission said S&P abuses its position as the only ISIN issuer in the U.S.
