Holiday shopping goes mobile

One in five shoppers will buy using their mobile phones this season, a new survey says. The rapid growth in mobile shopping is because of a combination of user-friendly apps created by big-box and specialty retailers and the proliferation of iPhones and other devices that offer greater access. Successfully reaching the mobile shopper involves outreach, including mobile distribution of store coupons, said Retails Systems Research managing partner Paula Rosenblum.
