U.S. needs more pipelines to move production, experts say

A proposal by Enbridge and Enterprise Products Partners to reverse and expand their Texas-to-Oklahoma pipeline could help reduce the U.S. oil-inventories surplus, but it won't completely satisfy the appetite of Gulf Coast refiners, observers say. Pipeline developers need to construct more lines along the same path to move output from new fields. "There's a large demand for oil on the Gulf Coast -- one pipeline is not going to do it," said Valero Energy spokesman Bill Day.
