Ape study points to biological basis for midlife crisis

Chimpanzees and orangutans appear to experience midlife crises similar to those that humans often go through, according to new research published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. "This is one more example showing that we may be more related to our non-human primates than we think," said researcher Nadine Kaslow of Emory University's psychiatry department.
