Back-scatter health debate gets more attention with travel rush

The Transportation Security Administration's security screening machines that use back-scatter X-ray technology are under increased scrutiny as peak travel days approach. The technology has been said by the TSA and supporting medical professionals not to pose any health risks, but travelers wishing to avoid the X-ray technology may opt for a pat-down instead.
