Dallas plans for next year's 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination

Students in Dallas-area schools during the next year will be learning more about President John F. Kennedy and his assassination in the Texas city. Students will be encouraged to think about what his call to give back to the country means to them. The city of Dallas itself is also preparing, for one of the few times since the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination, a commemorative program that is slated to include a reading of Kennedy's speeches by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough.
