ExxonMobil, Shell face potential production delay at Kazakh field

A $5 billion proposal by ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell to raise daily production at the Kashagan oilfield in Kazakhstan from 370,000 barrels per day to as much as 450,000 barrels per day could be delayed by at least two years. Kazakh regulators have told the companies to delay the project until they examine the effects of a 2013 production start, sources said.
