Japanese company creates speedy book scanner

Japan's Dai Nippon Printing and University of Tokyo professors Masatoshi Ishikawa and Yoshihiro Watanabe teamed up to develop what they're calling the world's fastest 3D book scanner. The machine can scan 250 pages per minute and creates a clean copy that is suitable for formats including PDF and e-book, the company says.
