Jolla's MeeGo-based OS readies for battle

Nokia spinoff Jolla has introduced its open-source Sailfish operating system, showcasing a user interface that evolved from the ill-fated MeeGo platform, which Nokia jettisoned before it partnered with Microsoft. Jolla CEO Marc Dillon exhibited the displays at a conference in Helsinki. The Finnish startup hopes to port Sailfish into tablets, set-top boxes and TV sets, as well as smartphones.
