Report: 25% of new offshore turbines through 2016 will be in Asia

The Asian market will account for one-fourth of the offshore wind turbines that will be brought online through 2016, with demand slipping in the U.S., Germany and Sweden, according to market-research firm BTM Consult. By 2021, China will become the biggest market for offshore wind turbines, with the U.K. and Germany behind it, BTM Consult said. The U.S. could have its first offshore wind turbines running by 2014, later than initially projected, the firm added.
