Thanksgiving is a hugely wasteful festival, with 204 million pounds of turkey likely to be thrown out, environmentalists say. Still, the problem could be self-correcting: Researchers say climate change could soon disrupt supplies of turkeys, potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. "If the globe continues to warm, that Turkey Day spread could end up looking quite paltry," warns Mother Jones.
