Demand among autistic adults will strain housing services in coming years

Half a million autistic teenagers in the U.S. will require housing and support services in the next decade as they reach adulthood, according to the National Housing and Residential Supports Survey by Autism Speaks. "Adults with [autism] should be able to live as independently as possible, and this survey is the first step in understanding what that may look like for some individuals," said Lisa Goring of Autism Speaks.
