Discovery Channel to air documentary on chronic pain

A new documentary, "Pain Matters," explores the lives of six individuals with chronic pain and features the opinions of leading national experts in pain management, including 2013 APS Elizabeth Narcessian Award recipient Penney Cowan. Featured individuals will share their challenges in managing their conditions, including their validation due to the difficulty in objectively measuring pain, in addition to working with health care professionals to develop an individualized treatment plan. "Pain Matters" will air on the Discovery Channel Saturday, Dec. 7 and 14. The full documentary will also be available online.
