Eating nuts may reduce cancer, cardiovascular death risk

In an analysis of data from the Nurses' Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, researchers found that individuals who ate nuts at least five times a week were 29% and 11% less likely than those who did not eat nuts to die from heart disease or cancer, respectively. Eating nuts regularly was linked to a lower risk of dying from any cause in the 30 years studied. The findings appear in the New England Journal of Medicine.
