How a Pa. district is shifting to common core math

A Pennsylvania school district is making changes to its math curriculum as part of the district's implementation of new math standards under the Common Core State Standards. Elementary educators are using Math in Focus to teach math in a more concrete manner, said mathematics supervisor Lisa Mumma, who spoke about the curriculum at a school board meeting recently. Older students will see a change in math course sequencing and additional rigor, she added.
