Macy's is 1st to debut Shopkick's new ShopBeacon feature

Three-year-old Shopkick has added a new dimension to its mobile application with the launch of ShopBeacon, a feature that uses iBeacon technology from Apple to detect when users are in stores and sends promotions, welcome messages and other content to their mobile phones without requiring customers to launch the app. Macy's is the first Shopkick retail partner to roll out ShopBeacon, which debuted at its flagships in New York City and San Francisco.
