Mass. to phase-in common core exams

Massachusetts will transition to PARCC -- Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers -- exams, which are aligned with the Common Core State Standards, in two years rather than one year when the tests become operational in 2015. The decision, made Tuesday by the state's board of education, is intended to give teachers more time to put the common core into practice and give school districts more time to become familiar with the online exams.
