New $1B Wilshire Grand project "bottoms out" at 106 feet below ground

Demolition of the old Wilshire Grand hotel in Los Angeles is complete and a "bottoming out" ceremony is being held today to recognize that workers have dug 106 feet below street level. Korean Air, the project's developer, is set to break ground on a new $1 billion, 900-room Wilshire Grand either in December or early next year. The project, which will be more than 70 stories tall, is slated for completion in late 2016.
