Okla. residents turn to concrete homes to withstand tornadoes

Building homes with concrete is a growing trend in residential construction, particularly in Oklahoma. For Jasper and Amanda Warden, rebuilding meant using concrete to protect them from tornado-like winds, and they chose the Nudura Insulated Concrete Form home, which is built with four-inch thick, steel-reinforced concrete walls. "In a concrete home, it gives a family a real good chance that they can keep all the things that makes their family. That's real important," said Nudura representative DJ Estes.
