Qatar joins with Emirates on big Boeing 777 order

At the Dubai Air Show, rival airlines Qatar Airways and Emirates announced a joint deal to purchase up to 250 Boeing 777 planes, a partnership designed to maximize the airlines' buying power. "We're buying airplanes, we're not going to the supermarket, so we're not going to do this every time," Qatar CEO Akbar Al Baker said. "But when we do a similar program in the future then yes, I hope that we will be able to do it together."
