Russian's chocolate consumption growing rapidly

Russia ranks first in Europe and third globally in the confectionery market, with sales expected to grow about 6% over the next four years, according to market researchers. Almost 70% of confectionery sold are chocolate products, and more than 80% of Russians regularly enjoy chocolate for a total per capita consumption of 5.3 kg. Demand for chocolate is expected to rise 8% by 2017 fueled by a growing middle class.
