Satellite imaging used to create maps of Great Barrier Reef

Researchers have used satellite imagery to map out the entirety of the Great Barrier Reef, a large portion of which had not previously been surveyed using modern techniques. The 3D maps, which were produced as part of a partnership between a German company and university researchers, can be used for a variety of purposes such as tracking the impact of sea-level rise.
