Study: Calcium, vitamin D may not reduce CRC risk

Data from the Women's Health Initiative found taking calcium and vitamin D supplements did not reduce the risk of colorectal cancer or hip fracture, University of Pittsburgh researchers said. The study, which compared women who took the supplement with those who took a placebo, found the risk of colorectal cancer, invasive breast cancer, cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality did not differ between the groups.
