Italy's banks become resigned to government rescue

A report on the banking sector shows that Italy's banks need more than €21 billion in injections to raise their capital strength to the level of their European competitors. The situation is forcing the country's banks to realise that they will likely need a government rescue. Italy is expected to announce a recapitalisation effort soon.
