Light frame method catches on

The lower maintenance cost, energy efficiency and quick construction time of the light frame steel building method has helped it become fully integrated into the South African construction industry over the past two years. The concept originated in Australia and "refers to a building technique with a 'skeleton frame' of vertical steel columns and horizontal I-beams, constructed in a rectangular grid to support the floors, roof and walls of a building, which are all attached to the frame."
