Prospects for a compromise over Bush tax cuts fade

A deal over the expiring Bush tax cuts won't be cut until December at the earliest, and it may not happen until next year, some Democrats say, as the meeting between President Barack Obama and congressional leaders has been pushed back to next Tuesday. Democrats in the Senate say they haven't even agreed on a plan yet. If Congress and the president can't reach a deal by Dec. 31, the cuts for all Americans will expire.
