Obama plans to veto measures against automatic spending cuts

President Barack Obama has vowed to veto any effort to stop $1.2 trillion in spending cuts from automatically taking effect in 2013. He made the comment after the deficit-cutting supercommittee announced its failure to reach a deal. "There will be no easy off-ramps on this one," Obama said. "We need to keep the pressure up to compromise, not turn off the pressure."
