U.S. investigates possible cyber-attack on water facility in Ill.

Federal investigators are looking into a possible cyber-attack on a water utility in Springfield, Ill., that may have been the cause of a water-pump failure. A cybersecurity expert says he obtained a report saying water workers had found glitches in the system for nearly two months. The exact cause of the pump failure remains unknown. "At this time, there is no credible corroborated data that indicates a risk to critical infrastructure entities or a threat to public safety," Department of Homeland Security spokesman Peter Boogaard said in a statement.
