CEA: U.S. adults are ready to shop on Black Friday weekend

The Consumer Electronics Association reports that 37% of U.S. adults plan to shop on Black Friday, with 60% planning to shop during the holiday weekend. Average spending this weekend on holiday gifts will be $218, compared with an average of $159 last year, the CEA survey found. "The 2012 Thanksgiving weekend has the potential to be the biggest shopping weekend on record," Shawn DuBravac, CEA's chief economist and senior director of research, said in a statement.
