Consumer confidence, better weather fuel increase in rounds played

Golf courses throughout the nation have experienced a dramatic jump in rounds played this year -- a total of more than 30 million more rounds than through three quarters of 2011 -- indicating the industry may be recovering from the past decade's 11% drop in rounds played. Industry analysts attribute the large gain in business to more favorable weather and an increase in consumer confidence and spending.
