ONC envisions 1,000 rural hospitals achieving MU in 2 years

The ONC aims to have 1,000 rural hospitals demonstrating meaningful use of health IT by the close of 2014. To encourage sharing of best practices and accelerate HIT adoption, the agency has set up the Rural Community of Practice to oversee pilot programs, with subcommittees to track the key issues faced by rural hospitals.
