RFID improves blood monitoring in pilot test

The Transfusion Medicine RFID Consortium said it has submitted findings to the FDA about a pilot study of a radio frequency identification blood-monitoring system in support of an application for 510(k) clearance. The system helped increase efficiency and decrease reconciliation issues and the misplacement of products.
