Smoking and tattoo age can affect success of removal

Tattoo removal might be less effective in patients who smoke, and tattoos that are large, are old or are on a foot or leg are the most difficult to remove. Blue, green and yellow inks are more difficult to address than black. The best outcomes were had when laser treatments were performed at eight-week or greater intervals.
