Student engagement, communication improve after laptop rollout

A Minnesota school distributed 235 MacBook Airs to seventh- and eighth-grade students in September, and educators say the technology already has improved instruction. Students say they use the devices daily and use digital copies of their textbooks. The laptop program, which is expected to be expanded, has improved communication among teachers and students, and helped keep students more engaged.
