FDA proposes voluntary program to qualify medtech development tools

The FDA has issued draft guidance outlining its proposal to launch a voluntary program for the qualification of medical device development tools, which are used in assessing how a device functions. The proposal, which is up for comment through Feb. 12, aims to make such instruments available to more sponsors to allow faster development of medical technologies.
