Luxury travelers paying more for experience over amenities

Modern luxury travelers are more interested in having an experience and socializing with others at hotels, and are less concerned with status symbols like high-end in-room amenities. Hotels are responding by creating more interactive, living-room style lobbies and open, colorful meeting rooms. "They are pursuing something hip, something individual and something creative and perhaps even something with historical or cultural significance," said Yoo CEO Marco Nijhof.
