Wind energy groups and supporters in Minnesota are hoping to persuade Congress to renew the wind-energy Production Tax Credit. The push is being made in response to a letter signed by 52 House Republicans, which asked House leaders not to extend the PTC. "[Companies] need these incentives in order to have that revenue be part of what justifies the capital expense. Since there is no cost for the fuel, it is a capital intensive project," said Lisa Daniels, executive director of information firm Windustry.
