Panel: YouTube's role in TV structure is still not clear

YouTube has proven to be a key partner to promote TV content and air short clips, but the video site has yet to decide whether it wants to be a distribution platform or content creator, TV executives said at an industry event. "They are definitely part of our strategy," said Mara Winokur, senior vice president at Starz Digital Media. "I think the challenge is trying to figure out how effective they can be and are willing to be, and how to make them work for us."
