SEC definition of "accredited investor" might include advisers

The Securities and Exchange Commission might rewrite its definition of "accredited investor" to include financial advisers and other professionals with relevant certification. Chairman Mary Jo White explained the idea in a letter to Rep. Scott Garrett, R-N.J., chairman of the House Financial Services subcommittee on capital markets.
