University plans to open innovative biobank to enhance research

The University of Kentucky Center for Clinical and Translational Science is planning to launch the Research Registry and Specimen Bank, an extensive biobank that aims to provide access to blood and tissue samples for research. With patients' consent, the biobank will house excess blood and tissue from medical procedures done at the university hospital, and the samples will be used for research purposes.
